A couple weeks ago the cherry blossoms were in full bloom in our neighborhood. I happened to have my camera in the front seat of the van on that Monday, so we stopped to take pictures.
As you can see, the storm clouds were rolling in and by the next day those blossoms were gone. I’m so glad I got a picture of the kids in one of the trees.
I’ve lived only 30 miles from DC my entire life and have never gone downtown to see the cherry blossoms. Because that is madness. We did go last week during Spring Break to visit the Natural History Smithsonian museum, and there may have been some pink still on the trees at the tidal basin, but we didn’t walk down far enough to see. It was SO COLD that day and we were focused on looking at some dinosaur bones. But I can say that I got close to seeing the cherry blossoms this year. There they are off in the distance. 🙂
