When Anna told me that she had never been to a beach or stepped foot in the ocean before, we knew a day trip to the eastern shore was a must. We went to Bethany Beach and played in the water, built sand castles, shopped for t-shirts, and ate junk food.
A perfect day.
On Saturday we had Care Group. This group of friends from church prayed so hard for us before, during, and after Mini’s adoption so it was wonderful to introduce them to Anna. Some of them met her the last time she visited 3 years ago but we hung out for the afternoon this time. One of the families in our care group have two adopted children, too, from Colorado (same agency, in fact). Those kids (who are now in our youth group!) were who God used to lead us to Hope’s Promise as our first and only choice for an agency.
So cool to worship together.
And here we are 4 years later with Mini’s birthmom!
On Sunday we had plans to go to the zoo but it started raining hard after church, so we decided to go shopping instead. Anna loves to shop so I thought it would be fun to take her to the largest mall in the DC area, Tysons Corner Center. No worries, we ended up going to the zoo after all. The place was CRAZY with back to school shoppers but we still had so much fun. It was precious to watch Anna and Mini in the Disney Store together. They were both giddy. Anna gave her a Cinderella doll the day she arrived to go with her Ariel that she already had. After this shopping trip she came home with Aurora. I couldn’t resist. 🙂
This picture was taken pre-Disney Store but you can see how much she loves her Princesses.
The weekend tired all of us out but it was full of great memories.
