I don’t want to complain about the rain because I know they could use it right now in Texas. But cats and dogs, along with loud thunder, for four days straight is getting old here in Maryland.
Our neighborhood looks like this.
Fortunately, that’s not a road that we need to drive on. It’s the walking path around the lake behind our row of townhouses.
The lake that, from the latest storm that came through today, has expanded in size.
You can get some perspective for how deep the water is in this next picture:
Those are three picnic tables (or the tops of three picnic tables, anyway).
So, how have we managed to not go stir crazy this week? Well, the answer is, we haven’t. I think the answer became clear right about the time that a loud clap of thunder woke Mini up from her nap and I shouted “noooooooooooooooooo” and fell on my knees.
She hadn’t napped all week, until today. And she was asleep for hmmm, maybe 15 minutes. Last night she was up in the middle of the night too.
It’s been a long week.
And I desperately need to see the sun shine.
