Sincere Thoughts on Being a Mom

Mommy Skills

Why does Mini continually remind me that she is two?  Max, my personal Lo-Jack for the whereabouts of his little sister, informed me that she was making a mess of the toilet paper in the bathroom again.

So I ran.  To get my camera.

Yep, there she was unrolling a perfectly good 3-ply at top speed.  A-ha!  Caught ya!

Look at it this way, I’m glad someone is helping me to sharpen my janitor skills.  We all know those are only used when necessary.

Where is the secret stash of unmatched cheap flip flops in this house??  And why did I think it was smart to buy two sizes of black camo ones when one of each size would, of course, disappear?  Oh yeah, I know.  To sharpen my skills in delegation and being NO FUN AT ALL in making a certain 7 year old look for them when he is on Summer Break.

Have you ever started writing and the direction of what you’re writing about keeps changing but you have no idea where to go with it?  You start talking about mommy skills and yet you can’t think of anything else to say about the pictures you want to include in your post and it’s getting late and all you want to do is crawl into bed?

So I’m just going to show you some pictures of the last couple of days.  Just know that many skills often unwittingly acquired in motherhood were sharpened.  Unwittingly.  Did I already say that?

Mostly, just the skill of staying on my toes all day.  That’s really how I got that buff calf, you know.
