Max and I drove to the airport to be there when Pops & Nana arrived with Mini tonight. I just couldn’t wait for them to drive her home, I had to be there at the first chance possible. I brought balloons, too. How funny is that?
I really missed my little girl! But the weekend here [...]

There’s No Crying in Swimming

Last night Max swam two races in his first meet for the Mini Team (6 and under) and received a 1st place ribbon for a 25 meter kickboard race
Max was in the middle lane competing against two girls (super fast competitive girls, of course!) Watching the Mini Team’s races are comedies in slow motion. I [...]

Our Father’s Day weekend festivities began with a phone call. It was Mike calling from his cell phone asking me if I just tried to reach him. No, that’s weird; it wasn’t me.
It didn’t take but a second to realize that Mini must have hit the redial button on our phone. Apparently she really wanted [...]
At the End of the Day

I’ve been out of sync in the evenings, which is when I typically blog. Sometimes I wonder to myself when on earth did I ever have time to do this? How did I have words at the end of the day? How did I not fall asleep as soon as I started typing?
Because, yo. I’m [...]

Jr. High is wrapping up tomorrow night. Max is cramming memorizing something like 15 verses for the last night of Awana. He lost steam a couple of months ago in his book and I decided not to push him, but the second-to-last-week he CRIED, “why didn’t you practice my verses with me, Mom? Why did [...]

I’ve shared before how much Steven Curtis Chapman’s music has shaped my walk over the years. His song “Go There With You” was a part of our wedding and his song “Cinderella” is my cell phone ring. I’ve been a fan for over 20 years and I know he has a million fans out there, [...]

I took a break from sweeping up graham cracker crumbs and read this post about the seasons of mommyhood from Learning Patience. You should read it. It’s beautifully written and will give you a chuckle. It was just what I needed to get through the noisy and messy day with a little perspective.
Great post, Jen.

1. I sweep the kitchen floor TEN TIMES A DAY. TEN TIMES! Thank you, I just needed to get that out of my system. I miss having a dog. If Max ever threw food onto the floor like Mini does our beagle (who is eating plain Cheerios right out of the box up in doggy heaven) [...]

Really, for someone who loves attention, I have to say I’ve met my quota this year. But this time I scratched my cornea on a Sunday morning (probably in my sleep) and the thing about this kind of thing is that it gets worse as time goes on.
And in the beginning you can just about [...]
