I’m closing the book on The Foot Saga ‘08-’09. At least I hope so.
I saw Dr. Handsome today and he looked at my last x-ray taken a week ago. He said, and I quote, “You look beautiful. And your xrays do too.” I know, I completely fell for the oldest line in the physicians’ book [...]

Woke Up At The Quake of Dawn
Posted in Adoption (Open), All About Max, Sincere Thoughts on Being a Mom, Spiritual Growth on March 26, 2009 | 6 Comments »
Max crawled into bed with us in the wee early morning hours complaining that his bones hurt. I suspected a fever since he came down with Round 2 of the stomach virus yesterday but he didn’t feel especially hot. I told him to come on in, we’ll make room.
About 6:30 I still couldn’t get back [...]
Pit or Pits, That is the Question
Posted in Broken Foot Saga '08-'09, Spiritual Growth, Uncategorized on February 10, 2009 | 7 Comments »
Thank you for your encouragement and thanks for your prayers about my pit situation. Not my pits situation, as no one even came close to joking about in the comments (you did hear what Max said to me…how I smelled like the Jr. High room?) Anyway, because you are so nice…and sensitive…you left that one [...]
My Pit

Do you believe God uses everything we encounter in life for our own good? I do. I just started reading Beth Moore’s Get Out of That Pit (Honestly? I am in a pit. I am down here with a broken foot in a PIT…it’s darker than I make it out to be on my lighthearted not-so-sincere blog [...]
Jumbled

Hey. I’m just poppin’ in to say hello and tell you that I, at this very moment in time, am feeling stress in every fiber of my being.
My shoulders are tense, thoughts inside my head are spinning, and my legs are crossed at the ankles tighter than the pair of jeans I put on this [...]
Humbled
Posted in Spiritual Growth on September 2, 2008 | 6 Comments »
Usually I like to keep things light here on the blog. After giving this post the title of “Humbled” I would characteristically write a story about how Max told me I smell good – good like garlic bread. And how he followed that compliment with a memorable encore – that I always smell like garlic [...]
Salt Sunday

Last October our church started something called “Salt Sunday” in which we leave our church building on a Sunday morning to do service projects out in the community, to be salt and light for the Gospel (Matthew 5:13-14).
We divide up in teams and perform jobs in a variety of venues. Some examples are: local neighborhoods [...]
In All Things, God’s Timing Is Perfect
Posted in Adoption (Open), Sincere Thoughts on Being a Mom, Spiritual Growth on May 28, 2008 | 3 Comments »
I think we can agree that Max was ready for a little sister. He loves her so much!
I’ve posted these before, but take a look at some of these again…
It makes my heart so full that God answered our prayers for children. The road that led us here may have been tough, but I’m [...]
God’s Gonna Use Him

Even though Max is so full of energy he makes ME out of breath, I really appreciate all the unique things about him. This past week has been one of those testing weeks for me, though.
God has given him a creative spirit and tender heart to go along with the clowning around, the loud [...]
Is God Really Talking To Me?
Posted in Spiritual Growth on April 25, 2008 | 9 Comments »
One thing that God has impressed upon me this year is that He wants me to know He is in control and that He is trustworthy. His timing is perfect and that I can always rest in that, no matter how big or small the worry.
This blog has allowed me to write down when [...]
