Today we received sad news that a family in our youth group lost their dad after a long year battling cancer. Please pray for this sweet, lovely family. They relocated to our area for treatment last year and got plugged in right away. It didn’t take long before us girl leaders fell absolutely in love with their daughter, then in 8th grade. She is the strong, quiet kind – a lamb with a lion’s faith. I saw a girl in junior high that had courage beyond her years, as she faced uncertainty about her dad’s health. I admired how she continued on with school and braved the process of meeting new friends her age. What a gift it was to see her in pictures from the ski retreat (just last weekend as her dad took a turn for the worse), surrounded by so many friends.
Please pray for amazing measures of strength to get through these first days and that God will surround this family with His love and comfort.
Oh, Anna, I’m so, so sorry. I will be praying that God will hold them close in the days and months to come.
