Thoughts That Are Spinning In My Head

- I want to write a post for a scholarship contest to attend the She Speaks Conference in June sponsored by Proverbs 31 Ministries. The conference looks like it would be so fun and a great learning opportunity. The contest ends tomorrow so I better get cracking on that…and you should too if you want to go! Here’s the info on Lisa TerKeurst’s blog
- I’m still in my pajamas and it’s 11:30. I need to get a shower and dressed at some point today so I can go out. And by out, I mean go to Sears and pick up my new glasses. I’m getting my very first pair of progressive lenses. That sounds way better than saying bi-focals, doesn’t it? Oh, boy. I’ve never been prouder of being in my thirties.
- I want to write down some homeschooling goals for Max. Since our routine will be changing a wee bit with a new baby (ha!), then I know I won’t get to this for a while if not now. He’s come so far this year and I’m very proud of him. I took him in for an evaluation with the school system a few weeks ago and while he is need for speech therapy again (for articulation and oral motor weakness), his other skills – fine motor, concepts, etc. – are right on target.
- I’m planning on making a striped ribbon board for the nursery. I saw it in the same Pottery Barn Kids catalog in which the Olivia bedding was featured. They sold it for $99 and all it seems to be is a cork board covered in white fabric with multi-colored and multi-width ribbons laid horizontally across the board. I think I can do it for $50. My friend, Faith, is going to help me and she is Mrs. Do-It-Yourself. So it will be in good hands and I promise to post pictures.
- Okay, enough of the long list in paragraph form. My head is splitting from the looking at the computer screen and keeping one eye on Max so that he stays out of trouble. No wonder I’m in need of bi-focals. I mean, progressive lenses.

Can’t wait to see the ribbon board.
Glad Max is making such progress. Doesn’t it do your heart good?
I was looking at that conference too the other day. NOt sure it is “for me” since I am not a writer, but it looked really cool. Shannon (rocks in my dryer) and BooMama are speaking there.
The ribbon board will look great I’m sure!
I’ve made that board. Sometimes I look at PB’s stuff and think “really? I can do that way cheaper…”
and sometimes it’s just cool and too cool to make…
Even so, your to do list sounds great! Good luck on your scholarship post!
I have faith in the ribbon board project. It’s gonna be awesome!
