I have big news, everyone! I’ve been hiding a little secret from you all week and now is the time in which I can reveal what it is!
We were chosen!! We were picked!! We are going to adopt a baby!!
A birth mother in Colorado, who is approximately 27 weeks pregnant, looked at profile books of waiting families and she chose us!
Jump up and down with me!!
When we first got the call from the agency, I was like “Wha?” and “Who?” for the first part of the conversation. Since we’ve been talking with our agency on more administrative subjects re: our homestudy lately, I didn’t have any expectation that this phone call was about THE ONE!
And it looks very promising because I got the sweetest email from the b-mom today and I think we’ll both enjoy getting to know each other. She’s very sweet.
Due Date: October 29th.
It’s A Boy! She said that her OB says everything looks great and estimates that he weighs 2.5 lbs right now and I hear he’s practicing to be an NFL kicker.
More details to come…but since this will be our son’s birth story the details will be guarded enough to convey how special and sacred his story is to our family. I know you understand and wouldn’t have it any other way. Gosh, you all are so nice
Thanks for your prayers! We’re trusting in God for EVERY detail to work out perfectly according to His plan.
Hey, remember when I wrote this post and did some asking? God answered! What do you think about his timing?

Boy, is it hard to type while jumping for joy! I’m so excited for you guys, and I just know that Max is going to be the best big brother ever!

[...] Living Room: Um, it’s a mix between Hasbro and Fisher Price right now. And in a couple months, there will be some Huggies boxes to add to the interior design (yay – we’re adopting!) [...]

You can read about our son’s private adoption in my 10 part series, It Wasn’t Supposed To Work This Way.
We’re now waiting to get licensed to adopt a second time through the state. I’ll be posting more on that process as it progresses.
Best of luck to you!
