This is something that I totally copied from one of my friends and I’m so glad I did!
I bought these whimsically painted month by month 4×6 photo frames from Lillian Vernon when our son was born. Unfortunately, Lillian Vernon doesn’t sell them anymore but I found a similar set of photo frames at Exposures Online and they are really cute and the price hopefully suggests that they are better quality than the ones I own. But this idea can work with any set of 12 frames that work for any space and budget.
Every month I put in a current picture. Believe it or not, this task helps me, a born procrastinator and not-so-organized scrapbooker, stay on top of printing my digital pictures every month. I can pat myself on the back if I get that new photo in the frame by the 29th day of the FOLLOWING month, at least!
These photos are like a scrapbook on the wall - since they are in my kitchen we look at them all the time. We talk about the memories and stories behind each photo with our 4 year old while eating dinner and we laugh about the good ol’ days of, oh, January or February. We’re amazed at how much our son changes in just a short amount of time. But even better, on the days when I’m feeling just complainy about our long wait for another child, I look up to see everything that I have to be grateful for in life. Month after Month I remember that I am so blessed.
So, keeping a year of current photos framed right in the smack-dab center of the kitchen wall is what works for me! Check out Rocks In My Dryer for more Works-For-Me-Wednesday tips!

Any small frames would work. Hey, especially those cheap wooden ones from IKEA. Oh I feel a frame decorating project coming on.
Great idea! Love it =)
Ohhh I LOVE this idea- the wheels are turning trying to figure out where to hang them……
Thanks
Jennifer
I love that idea!
That made me smile when I saw it. I had forgotten about those frames. I think I passed those on to my sister years ago. I’m glad you are keeping up with it! They look great on your wall.
[...] see God’s blessings a little more clearly. It’s kind of the same reason that I have the 12 months of pictures hanging on my kitchen wall. I know it wouldn’t win any home interior design awards, but I [...]
Oooh! So glad you linked back to this. I wasn’t a blogger yet when you posted it!!!! But I LOVE this idea.
